West Sands partner Daphne Biliouri is contracted by Greenleaf Publishing to co-edit a book with Dr Rory Sullivan entitled, "Responsible Investment in Emerging Markets'.

This edited book will present an analysis of the current state of responsible investment through a series of practitioner case studies that explore how specific financial institutions have approached responsible investment in emerging markets, the challenges they have encountered, and lessons learned. The book will also critically evaluate, through stakeholder perspectives, the contribution responsible investment can/could make to the delivery of sustainable development in emerging markets.

The book will be published in July 2012.

West Sands is one of two external speakers invited to address the annual security conference of a leading global telecommunications company.

Our talk, entitled 'Social Implications in a Global Context: from social responsibility to 'corporate security responsibility', covered the impact of ESG factors on a company's global security framework.

West Sands is invited to speak at a leading London law firm on how intelligence can be applied to deal origination, (re) structuring, investigations and litigation.

Cases were provided to cover how intelligence is compiled from different markets, including offshore jurisdictions, the former Soviet Union, the Gulf states, Latin America, and Central and Eastern Europe.

We are pleased to announce that the second issue of West Sands' Investor Insight has been published. This issue focuses on ESG investments in emerging markets, and provides a commentary on the CDC Group's public consultation - a process with which West Sands has been engaged.
